M Beach House

Tucked along the quiet curve of Mawella Beach on Sri Lanka’s south coast, M Beach House is a refined take on barefoot living. Designed with simplicity, space & natural light in mind, the villa opens onto a one-kilometre crescent bay where the ocean is seasonally gentle making it ideal for sea bathing.

The house sleeps eight across four air-conditioned suites. A pavilion at one end of the property houses the main sitting & dining area, its open design framing views of the pool & surrounding greenery. Two bedrooms sit to one side of the pool, while a sun terrace & loungers line the other.

At the far end, a second pavilion includes two further bedrooms, a relaxed indoor sitting room & a small guest kitchen. This space leads out to a private garden & a gate discreetly placed that leads to the ocean front from where a few steps leads to the sandy beach.

Throughout, the palette is warm & understated. terracotta pots, woven rattan, teak & soft linens to create a calm, contemporary aesthetic that feels true to its coastal setting.
